Mt. Rainier

A delayed reflection on my brief camping trip spent in awe of her presence.
Her = Mt. Rainier.

As a Washington-raised child, it felt very silly to have never been near Mt. Rainier until my 20th year around the sun. This summer, my family and I made it a point to finally go camping altogether. It only felt right to spend our trip in Mt. Rainier in southern Washington and appreciate her! She is powerful, magnificent, and constant.

Many Japanese community members call Mt. Rainier the Tacoma Fuji, reminding us of the famous mountain in our motherland. Their shallow slopes and gradual build-up to their respective summits create identical physical features.

Enjoy some snapshots of our trip, through my lens.

With much love,
Monet.
